Here's one I havn't been able to get answered elsewhere. Is using unix dbm files faster than using plain text files for data? I'm assuming it's faster when it comes to large files, as sorting through a few thousand or more hashes can get slow from what i understand.
Of course it wouldn't help portability, but hey.
