I just found a neat helpdesk system that is perl/mysql and is outstanding. It's called PerlDesk.
The author is very responsive to suggestions, and the support forum is just beginning, but you can tell that it will get a lot of activity once the web community discovers this great script.
What would be great is to integrate it with Links SQL so that when you login to Links SQL that you are also then logged into the helpdesk at the same time. I guess that would involve coordinating the cookies as well as mysql tables.
Oh, did I mention that the script is FREE and is GNU OPEN SOURCE ??
