how close is ASP and or PHP3/4 scripting to perl? and does anyone know of any really hot resources online for information about the two?

ASP and PHP aren't really that related to perl, but are similiar to each other. ASP and PHP are closer to something like EmbPerl.

Both work on the premise that the html document is the program, and code is inserted inside the html page, whereas traditional CGI works on the model that the program will output the html page.
