Any one know of a good mailing list that can cope with over 500 e-mails at once? I have over 500 e-mails in my database at the moment, and it is rising every day. But now it won't actually let me send the e-mails to them as it times out. Would mySQL make it easier? Maybe someone could direct me as to how to access mySQL, i have no experience with this. Once i know the basics i'm sure i'll be fine....

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

MySQL won't necessarily solve the problem...the problem is within your script and also limitations that your hosting company imposes on the number of emails you can send out at one time.

I found the mailing list manager at CGI-Elite, if they are still around to work pretty with medium to large subscription lists (like I had around 1,800 subscribers using the script and it worked just fine)...

Of course, the best script I've found is the EMAIL script that comes with LINKS SQL since it spawns child processes, which decreases the time-out effect.

OK, couldn't get their site to load fully...looks like they have a slow server or it is really busy , but i did find a wicked script at http://www.dtp-aus.com/...cript/lmrgscpt.shtml;it even lets you define the maximum number of e-mails to send out per batch...so you don't overload the server.....
