500 Error
I uploaded everything in ASCII format and I double and triple checked the path to perl. I also went ahead and deleted the dbman in my cgi-bin directory and uploaded everything again...still getting the 500 error when trying to access it.. the url to the script is http://www.dfw-webdesign.com/cgi-bin/dbman/db.cgi

the text versions are available at http://www.dfw-webdesign.com/db.txt (db.cgi)

http://www.dfw-webdesign.com/dbconfig.txt (db.cfg)

Thanks in advance,
Tim

In Reply To:
1) Turn on de-bugging.

$db_debug = 1;

in the default.cfg file.

2) Then post the EXACT error messages you receive.

You can also do the following:

1) CHECK your SERVER LOGS (no, not the default.log file in the DBMAN directory, but your SERVER ERROR LOG FILES).

2) Check the syntax of the db.cgi using the following command line via telnet:

perl -c /cgi-bin/dbman/db.cgi

Then post the syntax errors.

I uploaded those two files and a few other things including a dummy index file, no dice on anything I am uploading...but i can run a tracert to my site.. let me get these issues resolved first then i will try it all over again..

server logs for my site are posting any errors at all either so i think the problem is on the hosting side...

Thanks for looking at the issue. It turns out that my web hosting co decided to switch servers and it turn it switched my IP. I was able to view my page but couldnt upload anything.....Just saying thanks.. demo is working with no problems.. if I have anymore questions I will carry them over to the dbman customization board..again..thanks

Hi Philip,

1) CHECK your SERVER LOGS (no, not the default.log file in the DBMAN directory, but your SERVER ERROR LOG FILES).

Can you show me how to check the error logs in NT server?

Please help.

Does your host provider have a FAQ or Help section on their site? Do they have a support forum or a means of contacting them to find out how to use their services?
