Anyone succeed cookies yet?
Hi,

I've been trying again and again to get cookies to work in DBman. I want the user to have an option to save their username and password. Next time they enter the login screen, their info is already typed in. I have tried doing this in Javascript, and CGI, but it's not working. Has anyone been successful with adding cookies to DBman?

Thanks
Eli

Have you looked at the source code for UBB?
Their scripts are really nice and may provide you some pointers on how to do this.

The UBB scripts are licensed. But may be some one would be willing to share some of its key cookie components to assist you.

Personally, I think Cookies are insecure since you can go to a workstation where the user has chosen to turn cookies on and you can totally mess up your DBMAN database.

(Not a big problem with Intranet sites, but having DBMAN on the Internet...cookies are scary.)
</soapbox>

Yes, I have found the cookie script at Matt's Script Archive very useful. The script is located at http://www.worldwidemart.com/scripts/cookielib.shtml

I hope this helps. You may have trouble implementing this script though, so, I will check back tomorrow to see how you did.

This script is starting point...But it does not seem to have the same functionality that I think JFrost may be looking for.

Good suggestion though.

No, I think this is the script that I am using. Once implemented within DBMan it provides full cookie use within all forms so it should work perfectly.
