DBMan Install, @INC error, paths correct!
Hi..
I am getting the following error after isntalling DBMan on an "earthlink.net" server.

Check that they exist, permissions are set correctly and that they compile.
Reason: Can't locate /webdocs/cgi/dbman/html.pl in @INC (@INC contains: /webdocs/cgi/dbman /usr/local/lib/perl5/sun4-solaris/5.00404 /usr/local/lib/perl5 /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/sun4-solaris /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl .) at default.cfg line 51.

------
the deafult.cfg file is there, and all the other files are there too. I have installed this script before and it works fine. I think it might be a server issue or something. I have checked the permissions and they seem fine too (path to perl is right too).

Any idea what could be causing this error?
Any advice, assistance would be greatly appreciated. I think I am just "stumped" or something.

Thanks
Michele

If your permissions are set correctly and you have your paths set correctly, then it is a server issue. Please contact your ISP and ask for their assistance.

Thanks Eliot,
Only problem is earthlink SUCKS. They do not
give "support" for cgi issues.... I tried to convince my client to move to a new host, but they are happy there.... agh!

What to do,what to do..

How did you get it to work? I am curious. Plus it will serve future Earthlink customers/clients to know how to you did it.

Thanks.

Glad you got it to work.

Ahh, so you wanna hear the truth or my beefed up bogus story? Well, it was partially a path problem. Earthlink requires full paths, but when I tried that I got a server 500 error. But, then I had to put the full path into the db.cgi file too.. which I normally never have to do.

Oh well, my error I guess, but it is fixed and I am happy.....

Now, I just need to get it working like deepspaceweb.com ! I want to display pictures..... I guess I should start a new thread...

Please start the new Thread over in the Discussion Forum. This Forum is used primarily for installing the default package of DBMAN. Any modifications or questions you have about customizing the DBMAN scripts should be posted in the Discussion Forum.

Also, before posting your question, make sure that you conduct a thorough search of the Discussion Forum.

Thanks.

BTW: Did you design that web site? It is quite nice, although it takes a long time to download records. One suggestion if you plan on using images with records is to use the short/long display mod that will reduce downloading time of records. Also the short/long display mod organizes your records a lot better. Food for thought! Smile
