Error: no matching records

Error: no matching records
I am having a bad time trying to set permissions. I want registered users enabled to search/view and also to add/modify/delete their own. Whatever combination of permissions I use, I find anyone can delete anyone elses record or no records can be found. The databse is on the url: http://marriedpriests.org/cgi-bin/dbman/db.cgi Can anyone point me in the right direction?

You can select the permissions by clicking the relevant tick box in the admin area.

I'm a little confused about the relationship between the question and the subject line?

Hello Paul,
I understand permissions can be granted automatically in the configuration for a new sign-up. When I set up fictitious accounts to test the system, and permission are that any registered user can add/modify/delete own record, I find the user can delete any record, not just his/her own. When I try to restrict this, and the user tries to modify/delete own record, I get a message Error: not matching records.

I had neglected to put in a 'userid' field. I think that is what was causing my problems. Am I right in my thinking?

Not having a userid field would make a big difference as it needs to be able to associate a user with each record.

JPDeni has a great DBMan tutorial site which has an excellent section on permissions. I would highly suggest reading the charts she provides on her site.
