Is there a way to verify changes to the database?

Is there a way to verify changes to the database?
Is there a mod that will allow the admin to verify any changes to the database before they go online?

Thanks!

Both would be great, but I'd settle for either!

One other question. Are you using any modified version of the html.pl file? I have two of them on my site -- "user-friendly" and "short/long display." Are you using either one of them or are you using the default html.pl file?

I'm using the standard html.pl file.

Thanks for your quick reponse!

I'll tell you what. I'm going to bed, since it's after 3am. Smile

Both you and the "fharris" want this, so I'll get working on the correct validation for you tomorrow -- later on today! Smile When I get it done, I'll start a new thread.

Do you mean new records or modified ones or both?

David, I think I got things fixed for you in the validate records mod. You can pick up a text file with the instructions at http://www.jpdeni.com/...n/Mods/validate1.txt . Let me know if you have any problems.

Ok, it works well. Thanks.

My only problem now is that it is not emailing when the link is either rejected or verified. I have a problem it is somewhere in my config file.

Email => [12, 'alpha', -2, 30, 0, '', '']

Is there some place I need to put the email address variable in here?

Thanks!

Did you add

Code:
# Fieldname that contains the email address of the user
$db_email_field = 'Email';

to your .cfg file?

Don't you have the email address entered when the person adds a record?

If the value isn't being added to your database, take a close look at html_record_form and make sure that the spelling and capitalization is *exactly* the same as the field is listed in your .cfg file.

I've got it, but I had already modded the files, so I probably took something else later on in the scripts. I know the mail program works because I have the password mod.

What do you charge for setup? I might just hire you to clean this up for me. It works great except for that one feature.

I'm not taking any clients at all for the foreseeable future. I'm sorry.

Is it deleting the records you want and changing the others to "Validated"?

Everything is fine on the record end. My problem is that when something is either validated or rejected, an email isn't sent. It's not a problem with the mailer, but the address I think. I looked on the .db file and the space where the email address should be is blank. If I can find some way to get the email address in there, I think I'll be in good shape.

I also would like to validate new records that are added by users before making the records public. And upon validation inform the user that his record has been accepted.

Contrary to the discussion above I am using your short/long html.pl version.

Can I still use the validate.txt mentioned above for modifying or do you have another version for the short/long html.pl?

Thanks, HJ
