Help!

I am having troubles setting the permissions in WS_FTP. They seem to only work on UNIX systems and my server at Uni is Windows based. It comes up with:

501 This SITE option is not supported.
! Chmod failed. It may not be supported on remote site.

What now? I'm stuck. If anyone can help me out that'd be wikid! ASAP!

Eksavi,

You may have to contact the tech support at the ISP or your site administrator and ask to have the permissions set for you. Some service providers will not allow users to set their own permissions. There are also others that will not allow users to run their own cgi scripts. You may want to ask about that when you contact tech support.

Hey thanks Michadia...

I have already asked because its on the schools server and my lecturer said the permissions shouldn't need to be set. So I tried it again and it still won't work. Rather frustrating since it is due on Tuesday. Still suck... oops, I mean stuck!

If anyone can help me out please do. I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Eksavi.

Hi Eksavi,

If you haven't already, read over my post in the DBMan Discussion forum titled DBMan in a Windows environment - Checklist

Hopefully that will give some clues.

Good luck!
