error line 77
okay, I've moved to a new server recently and changed all the important variables but now I'm getting errors .... can't get even a log on screen and this really sucks. I've tried both 2.02 and 2.04 and get the same errors. could somebody visit my new site and give me some feedback. Please goto http://www2.comco.ne.jp/~carsten It's the only link there so far. Well, DBMAN is the greatest so I guess it goes even before my guestbook. MY text files are at http://www2.comco.ne.jp/~carsten/dbman/htmlpl.txt and dbcgi.txt and defaultcfg.txt

thanks

This server uses extensive .htacces files (probably paranoia of hackers) could this security screw up the unix path? ie: /home2/carsten/.//public_html blah blah although I entered /home2/carsten/publi_html/ blah blah into the default and cgi files?

Could be. I'd try putting in the directory information just as you see it in the URL. Can't do any worse than what you've got! Smile

hmmm, really weird server it likes what you suggest. (ahhh, not what you suggest but rather the server Smile )
it came out to be:
/home2/carsten/.//public_html/cgi-bin/dbman2/db.cgi

Have you ever seen this /.// setup --- the server ops recommended:
/home2/carsten/public_html/cgi-bin/dbman2/db.cgi

gee what you know JP, dbman's debugging and your advice are actually better than what I got over the phone......

Thanks for everything !

I guess my stabs in the dark aren't so bad after all! Smile

My method of debugging is to try everything I can possibly think of until something works.

No, I've never seen that kind of file structure before.
