login problems (modifying default.pass)

login problems (modifying default.pass)
I've tried to make a new account (as it said in FAQ), and noticed that default.pass was changed like:

# UserID : Password : View : Add : Del : Mod: Admin
admin:A.f0Kvdiyy8q2:1:1:1:1:1
author:zs047RckAhJH6:1:1:1:1:0
guest:ZX9XTlIfPvdGE:1:0:0:0:0
cranz::1:1:1:1:1

So the password for cranz wasn't added.
Why?
