I want the displayed records in the short display to be sorted alphabetically by field #1. I put the following link in sub html_record...

<a href="$db_script_link_url&ww=on&$db_key=$rec{$db_key}&view_records=1&sb=1">

...but I'm not getting an alpha sort.

I do have field #1 typed as "alpha" in default.cfg.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

With the link you gave, only one record will be returned. You can't sort just one record!
