in subscribe.cgi, it has a spot for both name and e-mail address, but it seems as though I can't use the recipient's name when I'm sending a message to them. SO the question is, will the mailing list work fine if I only ask for people's e-mail addresses and not their name? This is how I had my old mailing list set up.

The mailing list _only_ cares about the email address in it's current incarnation.

Anything else in the database is fluff.

You can ask for, and store, any information you want.

Hopefully there will be a more integrated user management/sign-up system in the next release so that email, newsletters, log-ons, etc are all one database.

ANd now that GT has gone WWWThreads, hopefully integration to one user database for FORUM too :)

thanks pugdog. I might start collecting other info with the mailing list signup.. it'd be great if it was all integrated.
