Posting after a long time.
Ok now i have created a mod for affiliate search.
Here is the description of how it will work
1) Interested users will need to fill out a form which will have fields like your site title, your site logo url, bg color, your site name, etc etc.
2) After pressing generate code button he/she would be presented with the html code which has to be inserted to their site in order to make the customizable search available from their site.

It is similar to google paid search.

If any body interested in this mod than post it out here.
It would still take 1 week for me to make it more smooth and to create a readme file.

A while back I remember seeing a "link back" mod which adds a link back to the referring site with a simple hidden field. But yours sounds like it will be much more comprehensive.

I don't think jackofnone will post this mod soon. I personally have the feeling he was just looking for somebody that would have the mod himself and because he's not capable of writing this himself. I got this feeling after having a look at all his post. (There where apr. only 12 different subjects in the last 6 months.)

Just felt the urge of posting this because I saw all the "yes, please" messages.

NOTE: I hope I'm wrong!

DS I hope you are wrong too. But if any one has this mod please let us know. I beleive that junko was working on one and it would be available with installation, if he is then is it done yet? Something like this would make Links 2.0 very profitable.

I've created a mod like the google search in the past and don't mind posting it in the future. (It'll have to be in the summer after my final year exams as I don't have time at the moment...). (Also created another one which lets affilates get paid for each search visitor they send to your site, however this was a paid mod so I can't post it on my site)

The google style mod uses a seperate db and .def file. Records can be viewed/modifyed, deleted via admin. Site owners can add/modify their details online. The db contains things such as:

Background colour
Site logo
Site name
Site URL
Text style
Table colour
link colour
text colour

They get a success page with the linking code. It includes a hidden field called 'afil' which search.cgi uses the get record to find their customisation details.

'It was on a site with many mods, and had some only available with installation and others free. Anybody knows where this is. '
