Please help me. I don't want any entry at the main categories.

For example,I have the following categories,
computer
computer/software
computer/hardware

I don't want people to select 'computer' but 'software' or 'hardware' when adding entries.

In dropdown menu in add.cgi, how to make 'computer' not selectable or not there.

I'm not sure if this is possible or not, but I do something similar on my site. There are no links until you get to certain depths in the directory.

I do this by changing the directory while validating the link. I just put it where I think it should go. I usually email the sender and let them know why and point them to modify if they have a better idea. That way when the get the validated email they understand why it didn't go exactly as submitted.

Perhaps you should add a message on the Add page that links should be added only to the topic-specific categories than the more broader categories.
