Tk admin client in the works
I've begun plans to build a Perl/Tk application for client-side administration of Links 2.0 databases. I don't have many details to provide at this time or a timeframe for completion.

Please post any suggestions for features you'd like to see in this program. This will most likely not be a free add-on do to its complexity.

Hmm...haven't played with TK yet, but can you cite the benefits of such a modification?

Thanks.

the basic idea is to just take admin.cgi and emulate the bulk of the functionality into a standalone application for environments where a local server and Perl installation isn't present. doing things this way decreases load on your server and allows you to be more productive. You could have your data in a table just as if your were in Excel for quick edits, or bring a record to a full page view for editing descriptions, etc.

Thanks for the clarification...makes sense.

I guess that the basic requirement would be having the exact same features in the Links 2.0 Admin Console.
