project - importing links
Hi, I have a list of sites with URL, description, category, etc. listed in an excel spreadsheet. I need somebody to setup an idiot-proof method where I can specify a file, upload (or ftp, whatever works) it to my Links V2, and have all my links get updated. I'm willing to pay a reasonable amount for this to be setup, so that in the future all I have to do is modify the spreadsheet (or whatever file is needed), do a few quick things, and then have all the links on my site updated. Please sticky mail me if this is easy for you and you have done this before, AND can complete this within the next day or two. Thanks. (Keep in mind, if done well, this will lead to many more customization projects I need completed).

I use Excel to update my database, but its not automatic, when you get used to it you can add 6000 links an hour easily, download the links.db url.db linksid.txt. Save your excel as a txt file tab delimeted, open in word pad double click the space between id number and the next column then do a replace the symbol it picks with | ..job done. save it and apend to the end of your links.db. do the same with the url..then open linksid.txt and ensure that the number matches the last row number in your links.db. Its easy to do and when you are used to it, it takes no time at all..if I find an automatic way..I will post it up
