The MOD was available from http://www.monster-submit.com/scripts.html but the URL seems to be dead now. There might be another version of it floating around if you check the forums.

Re: spidering options In reply to
You are supposed to run it on windows and import the data into link2 - it isnt a replacement for the search script.

i don't think he was looking for spider software to begin with. Like someone already said, the one he wants( if i'm right) is that one that says spider under the link listing and you can view the urls on that page, but the url is unavailable.

I wrote some code a while ago that will so a _similar_ job:

http://www.gossamer-threads.com/perl/forum/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=L2Cust&Number=150056&page=&view=&sb=&vc=1

It is currently a standalone script but it should be easy to make it work with a Links2 template. If you get stuck just let me know.

Thanks,
that is what i was looking for.
When will you make it available for Links 2.0?
I know that others has made this compatible and works fine!
So if you have the time...
(i don't know much of programming)

It only requires a tiny bit of alteration to get it to work with Links like adding the standard require lines at the top like the other cgi scripts have and to call a template rather than printing out the results directly.

I have exams this week so will probably only be able to do it at the weekend at the earliest. You could give it a go yourself to see how you do - there are always people here to help if you get stuck.

If you have a look on the German Links Mod site you might find something that will work. The spider the link mod was quite nice, but only returned a list of URLs ie. you didn't get anything useful to a non web-savvy user.

Thank you for the links.
That is what i was looking for.
But...when i click to spider a site a get this message:

Error: Bad Referer. The form attempting to use this script resides at http://satellitehit.virtualave.net/cgi-bin/links2/links/cgi-bin/search.cgi?query=tv which is not allowed to access this script.

you need to edit the script a little.
There is a line in it which sets the 'referrers' - you need to change that to your own domain.

As far as I know the URLs are only parsed temporarily, so you won't end up with your server being overloaded with junk.
Unlike the GoFetch mod it only shows them to the visitor.
Do you have a URL with it in action?

No, what do you mean "in action"??
I used to have FDSE(WWW.XAV.COM) which this mod is partly inserted by FDSE. I think directory is better for surfers as it provides categorized information and not websites based on meta tags.

What I mean is simply do you have a site where you are using the mod.
It helps others to see the mods that people are discussing in action. As you haven't got a signature appended to your posts it's impossible to see where you are or are not using the scripts.
