I've seen lots of talk about using WebAdverts in the archives, but I'm still confused about whether or not it works with Links. I use templates. From what I read it sounded like all I would have to do is tell it to build shtml pages instead of html pages. (I found the directions for doing this.) Is this correct? If not, what do I need to do?

I was just trying to implement the <%banner%> thing, but I am getting the error message: Can't find string terminator "`" anywhere before EOF in site_html_templates.pl at this line -
my $ad = `/home/a-zteach/atozteacherstuff.com/cgi/ads/ads.pl`;

What's wrong?

.. Never mind! I have no idea what was wrong, but I finally got it to work. I didn't change anything, but I deleted it all the revisions I had made to the site_html_templates.pl file and started again from scratch. There must have been some small mistake somewhere.

I tried all the suggestion for implementing webaverts but my banners don't show up.

I am using templates with the <%banner%> tag.

That is weird because i couldn't get it at first but then i changed the code a little and got it to run with AMSLITE on NT and Unix. The code i changed it to looks exactly the same as the other code.

I am using Link 2.0 with templates on UNIX. I don't have any errors at all. My banners just don't show up for cgi or non cgi pages. It works with the regular SSI calls.
