When I first built my categories, everything went fine. Now, when I try to add a new one, it says permission denied. I can add sub-categries just fine. Here is the message I get:

Directory: /data1/hypermart.net/vgstuff/links/Videogames
Filename : /data1/hypermart.net/vgstuff/links/Videogames/index.html
CGI Error: No such file or directory
Message: unable to open category page: /data1/hypermart.net/vgstuff/links/Videogames/index.html. Reason: No such file or directory

Have you got /links chmoded to 777? Also if you where building by broser then whet to Telnet(or the other way around) those created direcotys will haft to be removed, you might try making a dir called /links/backup and moving the dir in there and retry(if it dont work just move them back, Also where its saying /data1/ shouldnt that be somthing like Serrver1/data1/? Im havnt installed Links on Hypermart for awhile and not really sure but I do remeber server being in the full path

I have this error too:

Message: invalid directory name: /data1/hypermart.net/cgi-tools/resources/new. Reason: contains illegal characters.

I don't know what's happening.
Please help.

 
Have a look at the FAQ regarding Illegal Characters, in particular the section that talks about Hypermart.
