hi,
i was getting the permissions denied error when i tried to build.

i did all that was suggested to the other build not working post, i double checked the permissions.

changed my data folder to datax(the other user said she had to cuz it was part of hypermart's policy and i am at hypermart as well) and i changed the needed text in the files reccomended.

now i get this error:

Error including libraries: (Maybe you didn't strip carriage returns after a network transfer?)
Make sure they exist, permissions are set properly, and paths are set correctly.

It means that something was not uploaded in ASCII mode that should have been. Everything in the Links archive is uploaded as ASCII except background.gif.

is there any way of telling what file was uploaded incorrectly?

i have a feeling that it must have been after i made those corrections, that would narrow it down to a few files, but i would hate to have to reupload everything cuz i made lots of changes in admin, and all would be lost when overwrite everything.

If any of the files on the PC are identical in size to the one online, then I would suspect that file. The script files online should always be smaller than the ones on the PC because they have the carriage returns stripped out.

i reuploaded my files, and that error is nolonger present, but i'm back to getting the original error of permissions denied.
i checked the links.db and chmoded that 666, i tried the main file as 755 and 777. no luck.
could this be because i have not password protected the admin directory yet?
what else could it be?
