WHy am I getting this Error for eantime I try to click on a link?! It was alright earlier. This way nobody cam even access any links. The database is there! I looked at it with my own eyes!

All I did was delete some old backup files in the /links/admin/backup after I d/l them, but not the last 2 days worth. I had some strange message saying something about exceeding disk quota so I d/l them and then deleted the old ones except for feb 28 and mar 1 so that I could build the bloody pages!

NOW, I'm getting Error: Record not found (281)! and fill in that number with whatver key it is that I click on. God, what did I do? What do I need to do? Please someone help!

When I tried to go the the link you provided, I ended up at http://www.thecoven.org/include/lib.js .

When I tried the url at the bottom of your message, I ended up at http://www.thecoven.org/include/ns.js .

Something is definitely not right.

try it now. I just clicked and it went thru to the directory ok. So you can at least get there...

On some systems the file locking doesn't work as well as it should (it all depends on how your system implements flock()).

Unfortunately, if the url.db is corrupted, all your links die. This is pretty bad, and has been fixed in 2.0.

The same file locking is implemented (which works fine on 98% of servers), but if things do go wrong, the worst that will happen is one link will lose it's hit counts for that build. (Not all it's hits, just the ones it should have gotten since the last update).

If you are getting this problem a lot, I'd recommend upgrading to 2.0.

I'm not sure how, why, or what, but the problem, whatever it was, appears to have solved itself. Everything appears to be working fine today. *shrug* I went and built the pages and now it's all ok. You can close this thread now, or whatever it is you do when a problem's solved...
