Hello, thanx for reading this. I am trying to passwordprotect my links directory... but I am not able to do that... could you suggest me a cgi script manage that? Or otherwise... is it better to use the .htxxxxx file? How? Could you also tell me which directory should/must be protected?

The best way to protect the directory is using the .htaccess/.htpasswd files but only if they are supported on your system. The best place to find that out is from your host. The directory you want to protect is the admin directory. Once protected, it automatically protects any sub-directories.
