I have installed the links1.1. It works ok to add a category and a link but when it goes to create the pages, it only creates the main index.html page but when it goes to create the New pages, it fails and gives error unknow directory /data1/xxx/links/New. and says it contains an illegal character.
I have reapetedly downloaded the complete scripts from web and tried installing it again and again but the same problem.
The html pages for the categories are also not created.
I am doing this installation on hypermart.net

No need to download and re-install.

Merely check the FAQ and read the question/answer about illegal characters, and in particular the section referecing hypermart.

I fixed it . It needed the . in the allowed characters as the directory structure was with a . dot in the hypermart structure
/data1/hypermart.net/username

so I put the . the allowed characters in the links.cfg file as below
$build_allow_char = "-./";

Hope it helps others on the hypermart
