NPH and Cobalt Server giving 500 Error
I was trying to help a friend install Links 2.0 on a Cobalt RAQ server. And all of the nph- scripts were giving me a 500 error.

For example on build all. I click and it actually builds everything that I can see. But no html is shown on the admin side. Just a 500 error. But if you go and look where the files were supposed to be built, they are.

Any ideas?

Hi...

If you go through your nph files and force the output Headers in html...by this I mean:
Set ==> $use_html = 1;

Then you should also comment out:

# $nph++;

I had the same problem, but it was due to different reasons.

You can see a little bit more detailed post on the same topic here:

Good luck,

Rod

Nope, still no luck. I made all of the changes to the nph files that you suggested. But I'm still getting the same error.

Any other ideas?

No sorry Donny Frown

I'm not the greatest coder around by any means...I just though if it worked for me it should work for you to.

Though is your access.conf file set to read nph a special way? That could be worth checking into...

Another user mentioned that non parsed headers (nph scripts) do not work on Cobalt Raq's for some reasons, and to contact support for a fix.

Let me know what they tell you..

Cheers,

Alex

Ok. I finally got something back from Cobalt Tech Support on the problem. Here you go.

The RaQ servers currently do not support thttpd, or throttling webserver. In
turn, nph is not supported on the servers.
If you have further questions, please let us know.Regards,Raymond

So any ideas on what I can do?

The only thing you can do is change to a provider that doesn't use the Cobalt RaQ server or stop using Links.

I know, not much help, is it?
