does fileman allow you to edit CGI scripts? i can't get mine to chmod anything.

I do not think that you can edit anything through FileMan.

Does the chmod showup at all? It should look something like this: -rwxr-xr-x or something to that effect.

If it does not then check the following variable "show_perm" in %config and set it to 1.

On the other hand, if it has already been set to 1, most likely your ISP has disallowed you to change permissions of certain files. I think the latter is very unlikely. The first reason is the more likely one.
