Can't save changes/upload/create new
Ok, I am having a slight problem. I use cgiwrap on my server. I can not invoke "http://www.somewebpage.com/cgi-bin/fileman/fileman.cgi", I *have* to use "http://www.somewebpage.com/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/somewebpage/fileman/fileman.cgi" to invoke the script. So I know I am using cgiwrap for it..

Well, I thought that this was highly insecure. I tried putting password protection on the /cgi-bin/fileman folder but that would not kick in when I had to call the script from cgiwrap... Well, I decided to try "DCProtect" from www.dscripts.com. That is a script that you add a few lines to the beginning of any cgi script and it makes it to where you have to put in a username/password to use the script itself.

I can log into fileman and see *every* file on my domain. I can edit files but I can not save the changes. I can't upload new files, I can't create new files, etc...

It used to work, before I put DCProtect into it. I know because I edited a few files just fine. That was before my second thoughts on security though. I don't want just anyone to be able to access my entire domain.

Do you think that DCProtect is causing the problem? That seems rather obvious to me now, now that I think about it. is there anything I can do?

yes i think dcprotect is causing the problem. what kind of password protection had you been using. (and if it's not .htaccess) have you tried using just a plain old .htaccess script to password protect your directory?
