but we always get : FileMan Error: FileMan is not setuid

The FileMan execuatble were not made setuid-root.

Were there any errors during installation? It looks like the upgrade_me script did not run. Try running:

chown root.root /home/gossamer/fileman/cgi-bin/fileman.cgi
chmod 4755 /home/gossamer/fileman/cgi-bin/fileman.cgi

from shell and see if that fixes it.

No, there isn't, but the install is really simple. I've attached the upgrade_me script that it runs so you can see what else might have gone wrong.

in fact it was only chown and chmod .... all other modifications had been done by the .pkg installer totally correct !
