Fileman-->X:Drive Replacement?

Fileman-->X:Drive Replacement?
Hi everyone,

Just wondering, since it seems that every .com known to man is dropping off like flies, I wanted to use a tool like fileman to make my own X:drive style storage server. For those of you out there who are fileman experts, how would you rate this product as a solution? Does anyone know of any other product that may serv this purpose? I want to be able to login to my site under a secure mode, and access mission critical files from the internet. I used to use netdrive, driveway, etc. The only good one left is x:drive, and they are probably not going to be around for much longer in a 'free' mode. Myspace.com offers a lot of space, but their site is very very very slow and sometimes doesn't work. Any ideas????

Hi

Fileman is a great script but is not really meant for this purpose, so to get it to work in the way you want would take a lot of modifying and so it is probably not the best solution.

I don't know of any other scripts you could use....others may do.

One thing will help though...

If "fileman" allows upload contents to be shown not in a "ftp like directory" structure but more graphical listing. For example, if I upload files, I will be able to name those file so they make more sense (Web Documentation instead of webdoc.doc) in a Explorer like Web Interface.
