fileman on raq4 - double question

fileman on raq4 - double question
hey,

I have links SQL and also gt-mail, both have fileman included in the package... and both dont allow me to write/chmod to my own server.

I then installed fileman for RAQ package and it seems that it does exactly the same, not possible to write anything (upload, creation etc..

Question 1: is there any difference between fileman and fileman for raq?

Question 2: what could be the problem ? (btw I cannot ftp to my site even with regular ftp application, even under root, even if I did configurate my root of my raq to handle FTP operations...)

clueless?

Thks!

Hi,

FileMan for Raq will run as the user you log in as, where the FileMan bundled with Gossamer Mail and Links SQL runs as the web server user.

It should give you the same permissions as if you ftp'd in with the same user. If you can't modify/write, then it's most likely something with your server setup.

Cheers,

Alex

Thanks Alex,

what I am still wondering is : I cannot even ftp with my cobalt root account!! (with fileman or with normal cuteftp), I have to do all with SSH all the time

Anybody here is a cobalt specialist and could help me find out where the problem is?

I have ascii files I could not upload since days now (SSH doesn't support ascii uploads) so now I wanted to use fileman... but unfortunately...

Thanks all.
