setting up the multi-user version
Hi

I want to set up the multi-user version of fileman to allow different people to maintain different parts of several sites on a linux box. The directories already exist so I don't want fileman to create them. This is the set up:

User: fred
Dir: /home/httpd/html/
URL: www.somesite.com

User: Andy
Dir: /home/httpd/another_site/
URL: www.another_site.com

User: Sue
Dir: /home/httpd/another_site/docs
URL: www.another_site.com/docs

And so on....

I don't want to do it with sym links.

Am I right in thinking that a couple of additional fields are needed for the users database for the Dir and URL?

Has anyone set FileMan up like this and if so how did you do it?

Chris

Hi Chris,

I have a version that is setup like that so you have a field for the users root url and root directory (they aren't all based off of the same subdirectory). If you are interested, send me an email and I'll send you a copy.

Cheers,

Alex
