I am trying to set up a plugin that will allow my users to change their username.

For this, it would be helpful, if I could set up the new functionality through a new action, e.g. an action where the query string would look like "do=user_change_password".

Are you planning to incorporate adding of new actions? Right now, I have to put a plugin hook on e.g. "web_user_profile", which can also be done, but is less elegant....
