I have signed up as a new user with Community, and as an admin I have enable this user both for the forum and for Links SQL.

When I try to log in as this user from the forum, I have to enter my username/password, and then I am redirected to the forum, but I don't seem to be logged in.

Going to community.cgi reveals that I am logged in there, and I am also logged in with Links SQL.

What could be the problem?

This sounds like it's related to the GForum install bug. Make sure the app_application_user_id column got added to the comm_users table and it stores the gforum userid of your user.
