Gmail integration problem
Hi,

I installed Community, Gmail and the Authorize_Community plugin in GMail.

Now all the Gmail links just bounce back to Community. How am I supposted to link to Gmail now?

All I get when logged into community is "Set up your PTCC Free email account'
Start sending or receiving email from our site using your Free email address.

This is just text, no link.

What link to Gmail is supposed to go on the Community user_home.html page?

When I try to register a new user I het a red error message: Invalid Gossamer Mail email address:

I am so confused, there is no documentation on this I can find.

Thanks

Mike

Sorry, imports are rather tricky, and there is little documentation so far.

I think the problem is again with the import. The issue is that Gossamer Mail doesn't know what the email address is for your imported users. If a new user signs up, you'll see that they can pick what Gossamer Mail address they want.

The import can't really guess as a Gossamer Forum username might be an invalid email address.

I'll have a look into how best to address this.

Cheers,

Alex

Thanks for the help.

All the users I imported are from GForum. These users do not have GMail accounts yet because I just installed GMail. The users can log into community and go to the foum from a link I installed there, that part seems to be working now, but they can't go to the mail sign up page or they get the mail log-in with a message

"Authentication Error"

Invalid/Expired session.

Please login before continuing.

So then I log out as that user and test a new user sign up at Community selecting a webmail address on the form.

After the sign-up I am sent a verification e-mail. When I click on the email I get this error:

Fatal Error: unable to update user: Invalid Gossamer Mail email address: @ at /var/www/html/memberwiz/comm_private/lib/Community/Web/User.pm line 391That's as far as I can get testing this. Waiting for Beta 3Mike

Can you test something out? Go into Community, and edit a user. Does his Gossamer Mail status say Not Created? Switch it to enabled and then enter an email address in for that user and then see if you can move seamlessly through the two programs now.

If so, then the only issue is to automatically assign each imported user an email address.

Cheers,

Alex

Glad to help if I can.

The new test user I just registered was set to GForum "Enabled", but was also set to GMail "Not Created" they did have an entry for webmail address so I selected GMail "Enabled" and got this warning:
Gossamer Mail email address: test7@membershipwizards.com already exists.

All other users are set to GForum "Enabled", but are also set to GMail "Not Created", they did not have an entry for webmail address so I selected one of the users, set GMail "Enabled" and put their username in the field for a webmail address, click update and it was updated.
But I still cant log-in to mail with that user or I get the message at user/webmail.cgi
Authentication Error
Invalid/Expired session.
