LINKS SQL Password Problem
I have LINKS SQL Version: 2.2.1

I installed GCommunity.

I go to community.cgi and sign up for a user.

It will let me sign in at community.cgi, but it will NOT let me in at LINKS SQL.

AND, when i view the user in LINKS SQL Admin, the PASSWORD field is BLANK.

I have installed the plugin, i have added the application.

I am really pulling my hair out here :) HELP :)

ALSO, I am using the PHP scripts of LINKS... not the cgi's :)

Did you install the LinksSQL .tar file? (in /private/Plugins/, or wherever you have your fsecure files held).

If this isn't installed, then LinksSQL has no way to know if its installed, and where to redirect to.

i.e when you goto http://www.yoursite.com/cgi-bin/links/user.cgi, it should redirect you to http://www.yoursite.com/cgi-bin/community/community.cgi (or simiarl, these are just examples =)).

Hope that helps.

Cheers

I have found through experimentation that imported users require Clear Passwords to be set for the imported users to be able to be logged in to Links SQL. Other than the fact I missed this in any instructions, it was simply an inconvenience for me. In fact, I actually desire the side effect of this... the clear text passwords appear in the Links SQL password fields for the imported users.

But...

Users who signup the normal way, while still able to reach Links SQL, do not have any passwords being passed to Links SQL. I do see an advantage to having those clear text passwords in the Users table. Is there something I can do to have the clear text passwords passed from Community to Links SQL during a new user creation?
