I was very sad not to find an update to Community (which Alex planned to release soon some time ago) with the mod_perl, hooks and plugins improvements.
Let's hope it will be out really soon!

Give 'em a chance ;) They just released 5-6 updates for their other products, including a pretty major once for LinksSQL

Sorry but this is not a good point.
GT produces great products but they just can't handle timelines. And because Community is a free product doesn't mean it should not be updated with the promised timelines.

I know that doesn't make it right, but as I am a developer, I know exactly how hard it is to keep to deadlines (especially with a large product base). Even if they had 50 people working flat out, I doubt they would be able to get all their products out on time... its just not fesable :(
