Can you elaborate on your situation a bit more? Sometimes there are other ways to work around a situation.

It's difficult for me in english but I give it a try.

I need a field in the user profile which is visible for all users with three or more settings (for example: novice, profi, moderator). This field should only changeable by the admin.

At the moment in g-community I see only the function "edit only by admin and invisible for user"
I'm looking for "edit only by admin but visible for user"

The signup_restricted_profile option will stop users from changing those values, but you still can show the value if you just use the template variable in the templates.

thanks for your answer. I set the field prof_company to signup_restricted.
That was easy.

But can you give me a short example on how to include the prof_company column in the user profile template.
I can not find these variables in the user_profile.html?

Have you tried just using the tag <%prof_company%>?

I just was confused because it says in user_profile.html "This auto generates the profile form, so if you add profile options it will automatically appear"
