MysqlMan contains a lot of the same features as PHPMyadmin. The main differences are:

1. One is in php, the other is in perl.
2. PHPmyadmin is in frames, MysqlMan does not.

It's really a matter of which interface you find more usable, and whether you have access to PHP or Perl.

As to why php does not show the list of databases, I'm not sure. They might retrieve the list somewhere else (I know you can setup phpmyadmin to access just one individual database, that's probably what's happening).

Cheers,

Alex
