404 File Not Found

404 File Not Found
Hello,

I would appreciate greatly help with a problem I am having right now.

Per JPDeni's tutorial, I have manipulated the following files:

html.pl
default.cfg
default.db
default.log
default.count

After I changed and uploaded the default.cfg I tested it by typing in the URL (server/cgi-bin/db.cgi)to point to it. I received a couple of syntax errors, which I corrected. (At least I think) After I changed the html.pl and emptied the other 3 files and uploaded them.

I am not certain what I have done, but I now get a 404 file not found error. This has stumbled me up.

Can someone please tell me:

1. When pointing to server/cgi-bin/db.cgi what file is called to render? Is it part of the html.pl file?

2. Where would one suggest I look to find the error. I have hovered over the html.pl file, but I can not identify any problem.

Best Regards,

Kim Lanners

Kim, I would look in the .cfg file. Make sure that the $db_dir_url variable is set to the correct URL for your DBMan directory. That would be the line where it would make the difference.

(I know this because I can't count the times I have forgotten to change that variable and got a 404 error. Smile)
