Is it possible to attach files to records so that a user can view/retrieve them?

There is no file upload built into the script. Also, that adds a lot of issues such as: maximum size, where to store the files, security of filenames, etc.

Definately not an easy thing to do. You could let people put URL to files, as long as they are all available on the web.
