Changing File Attributes...Blah!
Hey Ho, Campers...

I've figured out how to upload the script (ASCII, BLAH!), but now i can't change the attributes.

I am using CuteFTP 2.0 Trial Version (Blah!) and my host is Tripod (BLAH!). I am a confused newbie who would like to show off in front of his friends (ok, so i lied...i HAVE no friends...BLAH!)

I need help...in more ways than one...BLAH!

I'm using Cute 4.0 but it might be the same. On the right side of the screen where the files on the remote server are displayed, highlight the file or directory that you wish to change, then right click with your mouse. Left click on the CHMOD option when the window opens up. A new window showing the permissions opens up. You can either check mark the permissions that you want or insert the value in the box at the bottom. All of this assumes that Tripod allows you set permissions.

So there *IS* the possibility that Tripod does not allow it.
How would I know, and what other free host could I use? Thanks for your help

Thanks for your help...but just one problem....tripod doesn't specify...is there *any* alternative?

Thanks again,

Blah!

What do you mean they don't specify?

woops...i didn't notice that one...i clicked on the "FTP" one. :)

However, that's not exactly what i want to know...it doesn't tell me if i can change the attributes of files. I'm sorry if these questions are a little daft...but that's just my nature (blah!)

thank you ever so much,

Blah!
