Error: auth file
I am trying to install dbman and am not a programmer. I discovered JPDeni's tutorial and it was going well until I got to the passwords. I set the $auth_allow_default and @auth_default_permissions as instructed and put in the path name to get to the screen allowing entry of passwords. I then used http://www.sonic.net/cgi-bin/kvdr/dbman/db.cgi to get to the login screen. When I put in my username and password I got:

CGI ERROR
==========================================
Error Message : unable to open auth file: ./auth/. Reason: Permission denied

Script Location : /opt/www/cgi-bin/kvdr/dbman/db.cgi
Perl Version : 5.00502
Setup File : default.cfg
Session ID : test.95979843191399

Form Variables
-------------------------------------------
db : default
login : Logon
pw : rain
uid :
userid : test

I checked the permissions and they appear correct, what am I missing?

Ignore this problem, I went back and reset the permissions. That did the trick! I'm back to the tutorial.
