So I just installed DBMan on my server, and I've double-checked all the directories,
file permissions, etc. but when I attempt to access the database, I get a
Main Menu window with no username or permissions. Aren't I supposed to get a
login screen?

The entire site is behind an .htaccess authorization, if that matters.

This happens no matter what set of configuration files I use... even the default one.

Since you are using .htaccess you may want to check out the following thread and see if you can find information regarding using .htaccess file with auth.pl
