I think you might be much better of using a text editor to work with the DBMan files.
wysiwyg editors tend to put in extra codes and characters which could cause problems.
JPDeni has a great tutorial for beginner's and also suggests some text editors to use. I like Programmer's File Editor myself which is available at:

This is a free text editor which can handle very large files.
