Templates ???
I installed Links 2.0 and it went great. I although notice that my ad rotator does not support .html but only .shtml and only if the banner is in this format will it appear. Can I change the templates files to .shtml and will it still work or what else will I have to edit.
Also can you place a SSI command in the template files and will it work.

In links.cfg change your file extensions to .shtml.
Note however that SSI calls are not possible in CGI-based templates such as add.html and modify.html. Search the forum for WebAdverts.

So SSI will not work with any of the templates files? Otherwise I will have to delete my entire ad system! What if the ads are called in the form of a image will it show up this way? not in the form of a SSI

Example- <img src="/cgi-bin/RandomPicker/random.pl">

As I have already stated, SSI calls are not possible in CGI-created pages. You can create global tags that permit you to display banners on such pages as well. THAT'S WHY, please click on the link => WebAdverts to find out how to implement such tags. Smile
