Creating an index.html file in each directory

Hi - as a crude, but somewhat useful security measure, I would like to have a blank "index.html" file appear in every directoy as soon as it is created, so that if someone figues out the URL to the directory, they won't see a list of all the files in it. Since I am a relative newbie here, I wonder if anyone has already done this and could spare the code? Thanks alot!!!

How about "turning off" directory browsing? either via the web server config file or your .htaccess file DirectoryIndex directive.
