Is there anyway to make files uploaded in FTP have permissions of 777 so I can edit them in Fileman?

You can use your FTP client to change the permission of the file. Some FTP clients like AceXFTP allow you to "right click" or "hold down your mouse" (for MACS) on the file.

A "properties" window will show that will allow you to change the permission. In addition, other FTP programs like WS_FTP have built-in CHMOD functions that allow you to change permissions of files.
