everything works fine, bit I'm always asked twice for my password.

The first time for 'www.domain.com', the second time for 'domain.com'.

This may be because my provider maps both domains, with and without the 'www' prefix.

any ideas?

That's odd. I have the same setup on all of my hosts and I only get the pw dialog one time unless I change www.domain.com to domain.com in the address bar. What do you have you root url set to? Have you talked with your provider?

My root is set to http://www.domain.com
When I run fileman, it also displays this root.

Whenever I enter www.domain.com/protected_directory in the browsers address line,
I'm first asked for the pw, then again for domain.com, and then the browser displays http://domain.com/protected_directory in the address line.

When I directly enter http:/domain.com/p_d, I'm only asked for the pw once.

However, when there's no pw protection, I always get http://www.domain.com/p_d

In fact, its only now I realized both forms are mapped.

I'll also ask my provider....
