I think I posted in the wrong forum yesterday. I have mysqlman installed and working, that is, I can get the script to operate. However, I cannot connect to my mysql database.

I am on a virutal server and can connect to my mysql via telnet.

In mysql cfg I have tried setting to direct connect. If I use "localhost" I will receive the login screen, but cannot connect using my mysql username and password. I receive "Login failed. Please enter another hostname/username/password."

If I type in my servers name "vixen.super.nu" instead of local host I get (using direct connect) I get the error message "connection failed: Host '216.169.96.28' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server".

If I use my domain name I get: "connection failed: Host '216.169.114.99' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server."

Anyone have any ideas what is going on? I would really appreciate any help or ideas. I am about to give up after spending the better part of two days trying.
